Thank you Dance Parents!

Our incredible dance parents at 3-D Dance are at the top of our Thankful list for MANY reasons. 3-D Dance parents are rockstars! They truly make it all happen. Our parents get our dancers where they need to be. They take time out of their day to make sure our dancers arrive to class on time and have everything they need to excel.

Is Performing Company Right for my Dancer?

You’ve heard us talk about our performing company teams here at 3-D Dance, but how do you know if joining the team is the right path for your child? First, it’s important to remember that we believe that ALL of our students are valuable, no matter how many classes they take or if they are recreational or pre-professional dancers! The purpose of the 3-D Dance performing company is to expand the dancer's world beyond weekly classes by offering a variety of experiences including performances, conventions, workshops, festivals and competitions. While there are many benefits to participating in performing company, here are three major benefits:

Everything I Learned, I Learned at a Dance Recital

It’s dance recital season — that amazing time of the year where parents, grandparents, and the bravest of family friends crowd into high school auditoriums and watch children in what is often one of their very first times on stage. Moms have battle stations with bobby pins and red lipstick, safety pins and hair spray, ready to doll up their children for approximately three minutes of pizzaz, tears, or a little of both.

Why I Pay for Dance Class?

One of my friends asked "Why do you pay so much money and spend so much time running around for your daughter to dance ?" Well I have a confession to make: I don't pay for my daughter's dance lessons. Or her pointe, Jazz & tap shoes. Or her hundreds of costumes. So, if I am not paying for dance , what am I paying for?

Stretching For Dancers’ Mental Health

Dancers are known for their sometimes circus-like contortions, whether it’s pulling a leg to their forehead or bending their back in an arabesque. Along with technique class and strengthening exercises, stretching is likely one of the largest parts of a dancer’s daily regimen. But what about “stretching” something other than your hamstrings?

What is a “Body Positive” Culture?

At 3-D Dance, we are committed to promoting a “body positive” culture—but what does that mean exactly, and why is it so important? It means that we believe dance is for every BODY, no matter their size or shape. It means that we are sure we can affect positive change to every child’s body image; that every student of ours can hear that their body can be strong, capable, healthy, and yes—beautiful.
